You might be wondering what these local expenses are. Here they come:
-

Container terminal handling.
The fee for lifting the container from the truck and later loading to the vessel. -
Export custom declaration.
This a customer broker’s fee to submit export declaration and pass custom clearance. -
Bill of Lading.
Shipping line charge to issue BL for the shipped cargo. -
TELEX release.
Later BL is surrenders and turns into TELEX release. -
Trade promotion fee.
A fixed fee for 20’ or 40’ container. -
Harbor maintenance fee.
Also, a fee depending on shipped cargo value. -
Export inspection application.
The expense itself is cheap (just 5-10 cents per item in application) but it takes much time to apply. -
VGM (Verified Gross Mass).
Basically, it is short blank goes with loaded container to the port with basic information, the gross weight is the most important. Forwarders will charge to fill it in and submit. -
Annual company profit tax on shipped goods.
Sadly, most of engines or used cars are purchased without invoice, but they can’t be exported at zero value. So whatever export declaration shows, we must pay 20% annual tax as a profit.
This is the shortest list. There can be some mistakes in application, additional port inspection and so on. All these unexpected pitfalls add up to our final expenses.
Local purchasing to local customers.
Usually, we purchase used cars, engines and other products based on current confirmed customers’ order. However, we do know overseas market demands and often have in stock some extra products. All these extra items in stock are available for local sales. You can check our items stock thru the website.

Even though it is a local sale and we don’t need to buy enough goods to load the full container, it still has to be wholesale purchase. There is not clear MOV (minimum order value) requirement, but reasonably it can’t be less then few thousand USD. We don’t sell to local car owners or repair shops.
